Q1.The selling price of an article is Rs 819 if it is given a 10% discount. If 20% discount is given, what will be the selling price of article?
किसी वस्तु का विक्रय मूल्य 819  रूपये है यदि उसपर 10 % छूट दी जाती है।  यदि 20 % छूट दी जाये तो          वस्तु का विक्रय मूल्य क्या होगा?

                     Solution:-     Let the CP be    = Rs. x

                                                                   x =  819 ×  100

                                                                            90

                                                                      =   910 

      given that 20 % discount on CP, 

                                                                 =    910 ×80     = Rs. 728  

                                                                         100            

      Hence the selling price of an article after 20% discount is Rs.  728

Solution :-
                 Let the second number be -  x  , first number =  2x
                                                                                                   3  
                  according to the question,

                                                         = x + 2x   = 60

                                                                   3
                                                         =  5x  = 60
                                                              3
                                                         =  x = 60 *3   = 36

             so, the second is   -  2  * 36  = 24         Ans.

Q1. A man spends 30% of his salary for house rent and 75% of the remaining in the other work.

What percent of his salary does he save?

Solution:-

                   Let the salary be 100 Rs.

                   then 30% of his salary = 100*30/100= 30

      here,  remained part of his salary is = 100-30= 70

      Now again , 75% of remaining salary = 70 *75/ 100 = 52.5

      so, saving is = 70-52.5=17.5 

hence , 

           he saves 17.5% of his salary .
